About

Red Eléctrica de España

Red Eléctrica de España (REE), established in 1985, is the sole transmission system operator for the Spanish electricity system, responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and sustainable supply of electricity throughout Spain. As a key driver of Spain's ecological transition, REE manages the high-voltage electricity grid, supports renewable energy integration, and plays a central role in the country's energy infrastructure development.

REE is actively involved in high-voltage direct current (HVDC) projects, notably participating in international interconnection initiatives such as the submarine HVDC links with Morocco and the development of the electricity interconnection with France through INELFE, a joint venture with the French operator RTE.
