About

Marinus Link

Marinus Link is a proposed undersea and underground electricity and data interconnector that will connect North West Tasmania with the Latrobe Valley in Victoria, Australia. The project aims to strengthen Australia's National Electricity Market by enabling the flow of low-cost, reliable, and clean energy between Tasmania and the mainland, supporting the integration of renewable energy sources.

Marinus Link specifically involves the development of a high voltage direct current (HVDC) system with a planned capacity of 750 megawatts in its first stage, utilizing approximately 250 km of subsea cables and 90 km of underground cables, with converter stations at each end.
