Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO)
The Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO or ADMIE) is the national transmission system operator for Greece, responsible for the operation, control, maintenance, and development of the Hellenic Electricity Transmission System. Its core mission is to ensure the reliable and efficient supply of electricity throughout Greece while promoting sustainability, transparency, and equal access to the transmission network.
IPTO is actively engaged in the development and operation of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) systems, including major submarine and underground cable interconnections that link the Greek mainland with the islands and neighboring countries, supporting both energy reliability and cross-border electricity exchanges.
