Energy Technology Partnership (ETP)
The Energy Technology Partnership (ETP) is an alliance of 14 Scottish universities, making it the largest academic energy research partnership in Europe. ETP promotes collaboration between universities and industry to deliver world-class research, innovation, and development across a comprehensive spectrum of energy technologies, supporting Scotland’s ambition to remain a leader in energy research and the net-zero transition.
ETP's activities include a focus on energy distribution and infrastructure, which encompasses research and collaboration in areas such as High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) technology, leveraging the combined expertise of its partner institutions to advance innovation in the transmission and integration of renewable energy sources.
