Dogger Bank Wind Farm
Dogger Bank Wind Farm, located over 130 km off the North East coast of England in the North Sea, is the world’s largest offshore wind farm, with a planned capacity of 3.6 GW—enough to power up to 6 million homes annually. The project is being developed in three phases—Dogger Bank A, B, and C—using some of the most advanced offshore wind turbines available.
Dogger Bank is the first UK wind farm to utilize high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission technology, enabling efficient long-distance delivery of electricity from offshore to the national grid. This marks a significant technological milestone, as HVDC is essential for connecting large-scale offshore wind energy to the grid over such distances.
