Cyprus Transmission System Operator (TSOC)

The Cyprus Transmission System Operator (TSOC) is responsible for operating, monitoring, and ensuring the security and efficiency of the country’s electric power transmission system, as well as supporting the management and integration of renewable energy resources. TSOC also develops and manages the electricity market in Cyprus, including day-ahead, intraday, and forward markets, and serves as the national issuing body for guarantees of origin.

TSOC's activities in HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) are particularly relevant to the support and future operation of electricity interconnectors, which will enable Cyprus to connect with other power systems and integrate more fully into the European electricity market.
