Crnogorski elektroprenosni sistem AD (CGES)
Crnogorski elektroprenosni sistem AD (CGES) is Montenegro's national electric power transmission system operator, headquartered in Podgorica. Established in 2009 after separating from EPCG, the company is majority-owned by the Government of Montenegro and manages the country’s high-voltage transmission network, interconnecting with neighboring power systems and being a member of the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity.
CGES is notably active in HVDC through its joint project with Italian operator Terna, constructing a 450-kilometre, 600 MW submarine HVDC cable linking Montenegro (Tivat) and Italy (Pescara), which serves as a strategic interconnection for regional electricity exchange and integration.
