Baltic Cable
Baltic Cable is a transmission system operator that manages a 260-kilometer underwater high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission line connecting Lübeck, Germany, and Kruseberg, Sweden, which has been in operation since 1994 and is currently owned by the Norwegian company Statkraft Asset Holding AS.
As an HVDC specialist, Baltic Cable operates one of the world's longest submarine cables with a transmission capacity of 600 MW at 450 kV DC, allowing for efficient electricity exchange between the Swedish and German power grids and supporting Europe's transition to renewable energy.
