Xlinks
Xlinks is a UK-based company founded in 2019 by Simon Morrish that aims to accelerate the transition to net zero by developing projects that connect regions with abundant renewable energy to areas with high demand, envisioning a global grid powered by renewable resources. The company's flagship initiative is the Morocco-UK Power Project, which will generate large-scale solar and wind energy in Morocco and deliver it directly to the UK using innovative infrastructure.
Xlinks is a leader in high-voltage direct current (HVDC) technology, planning to build a 3.6 GW HVDC interconnector stretching 4,000 km under the sea—the world’s longest—linking Morocco’s renewable energy resources to the UK grid and supplying up to 8% of the UK’s electricity consumption.
