Transpower
Transpower is the state-owned enterprise responsible for owning and operating New Zealand’s national electricity transmission grid, as well as managing the real-time operation of the grid and the electricity market. Its core purpose is to enable a reliable and secure electricity supply that supports New Zealand’s transition to a net-zero carbon economy.
Transpower also operates the High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) link, connecting the North and South Islands’ electricity networks to facilitate efficient power transfers across the country.
