About

TenneT

TenneT is the national electricity transmission system operator of the Netherlands, headquartered in Arnhem and owned by the Dutch government. It operates the high-voltage electricity grid in the Netherlands and large parts of Germany, managing thousands of kilometers of transmission lines and substations, and ensuring the balance between electricity supply and demand in its regions.

In the area of HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current), TenneT is actively involved in developing and managing electricity connections, including offshore wind farm connections, through its subsidiary TenneT Offshore GmbH. This positions TenneT as a significant player in the integration of renewable energy sources and cross-border HVDC transmission projects in Europe.
