Swissgrid is the national grid company of Switzerland, responsible for the operation, safety, and maintenance of the country's 6,700-kilometer extra-high-voltage grid that forms the backbone of secure electricity supply, operating under supervision of the Swiss Federal Electricity Commission ElCom.
Swissgrid manages critical infrastructure of public interest and plays a key role in Switzerland's energy transition, while also serving as an important hub for international electricity trading, with more than 40 lines connecting the Swiss transmission system with other countries.
