About

Statnett

Statnett is a Norwegian state-owned enterprise responsible for owning, operating, and constructing the transmission grid in Norway, serving as the system operator of the Norwegian power system and maintaining the balance between consumption and production. As a key player in Norway's green transition, Statnett is owned by the Norwegian state through the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy and plays a crucial role in the country's national emergency preparedness.

In the HVDC sector, Statnett operates international interconnections linking Norway's power system with neighboring countries including Finland, Sweden, Russia, Denmark, the UK, and the Netherlands, facilitating cross-border electricity exchange and supporting the integration of renewable energy.
