SNEL
SNEL (Société Nationale d'Électricité) is the state-owned electricity company of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), responsible for the production, transmission, and distribution of electricity throughout the country. As the major national utility, SNEL plays a central role in providing and expanding access to electrical energy in the DRC.
SNEL’s activities in high-voltage direct current (HVDC) are primarily linked to the development and management of large-scale infrastructure, such as the Inga hydroelectric site, which includes HVDC transmission to facilitate efficient long-distance power delivery within the region.
