Elering

Elering is Estonia’s independent, state-owned transmission system operator, responsible for ensuring the secure and efficient transmission of both electricity and natural gas throughout the country. Headquartered in Tallinn, Elering operates and manages the national high-voltage electricity and gas transmission networks, playing a key role in maintaining energy security and reliability for Estonian consumers.

In high-voltage direct current (HVDC), Elering is notably involved in the operation and development of the Estlink interconnections, including Estlink-2, a major HVDC cable linking Estonia and Finland that significantly increases transmission capacity and cross-border energy exchange.
