About

EirGrid

EirGrid is the state-owned electricity transmission system operator for Ireland, responsible for the development, management, and operation of the national electricity grid to ensure a secure and sustainable supply of power. The company plays a central role in Ireland's transition to a low-carbon future by planning for increased renewable integration and future-proofing the grid.

EirGrid is directly involved in HVDC activities through its development, ownership, and operation of the East-West Interconnector and Greenlink Interconnector connecting Ireland to Great Britain, and by co-developing the Celtic Interconnector to France with RTE.
